The Government of India set up the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) on 1st March 2002 under the provisions of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001. As per Unlocking National Energy Efficiency Potential (UNNATEE) report stated the energy-saving potential is 87 Mtoe for the investment of 8.4 Lakh Crores by 2031. BEE has taken efforts for conducting energy conservation programmes as they included “Energy Auditor Course “ for professional to qualify for the exam. 

 

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) was formed by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in 2001. IGBC targets 10 billion sq. ft. of green building footprint by 2022 and currently achieves only 0.4 billion sq. ft by 2019. CII is conducting skilled courses like the Indian Green Building Council-Accredited Professional (IGBC AP) to fill the present gap. 

 

The government of India has set a target of 175 GW renewable energy capacity by 2022. Current Installed capacity of 22 GW only. NSDC/SCGJ has conducted skilled courses like Surya Mitra, Solar PV Installer, Solar Designer, Solar Grid Engineer to fill the present gap.

 

By 2030, the government aims to make India a 100% electric-vehicle nation for this MSME has conducted the course of EV Charging station and Hybrid Electric Vehicle.

 

There is no proper books/materials/guidance for all the courses even though employment opportunities are huge. We are in the process of writing books in those areas to eliminate the market gap and get future-ready energy professionals to explore their career in Renewable Energy Industry.
